Journalists in Afghanistan work under extremely difficult circumstances and routinely face violence, threats, and intimidation that prevent them from carrying out their work. Nai’s advocacy team responds to situations arising in the media industry in Afghanistan.

Nai produces a regular monthly newsletter, Media Watch News which is published and distributed in Dari, Pashto and English.
Media Watch produces a biweekly radio program, which is aired on Salaam Watandar. The program is broadcast by more than 30 radio stations across Afghanistan.
Nai has developed an Afghanistan Media Advocacy Calendar to assist journalists and activists in covering media rights in Afghanistan.

Since 2005 Nai has been delivering a select range of training courses for media professionals in Afghanistan. Our graduates work for a range of international and local television, radio and print media.
Nai’s advocacy team responds to situations arising in the media industry in Afghanistan. Nai has dedicated staff to monitor conditions for journalists and other professionals within the media industry and advocates for the rights of journalists through its publications and in a range of forums including governmental, international and local non-governmental and civil society.
