The Afghan Voice News agency has been attacked twice by suicide bombers early this morning, in the attack several our citizens were martyred and injured where some of the correspondents and media staffs are seen among the injuries.

A gathering was taking place in the Afghan voice news agency hall where the participants trying condemn the ex soviet union raid on this day to Afghanistan, during the ceremony a suicide bomber has detonated his explosive materials among the participants which killed dozens and injured several others.The recent information received by media watch indicates the one correspondent with his cameraman from Shamshad TV station and correspondents and media staffs of Afghan voice News agency have been injured.

The Nai responsible went to visit the scene to launch advocacy, since the area has been planted mines by terrorist the police forces did not allow any correspondents to reach to the scene, more over the third explosion took place close to the correspondents therefore the correspondents could not find opportunity to enter the hall and film the area.

Director General of Nai supporting open media in Afghanistan in his statement said, “ what was clearly seen in the scene was that poor coordination between the police forces and National Directorate Security personnel the government of Afghanistan should launch necessary policy for avoiding such terrorist attacks   over the media installations.”

The year of 2017 has been the second bloody year for the media and correspondents and the reports indicate that terrorist attacks over the media installations increased during the year earlier the terrorists have stormed the sub National TV station in Nangarhar province then they targeted Shamshad TV station in Kabul and recently they have burned Radio station called Sarhad in Ghor province.

Nai supporting open media significantly got concerned and expressed concerns over the ongoing situation, and believes if the government doesn’t take care of the situation next year would the upcoming bloody year for the media and correspondents.
