Advanced Training for Senior Female Journalists and Editors

Trainer: An International trainer will facilitate this program in Kabul
Learning objectives: The training will be practically focused on creating compelling and balanced public interest stories. The training will include specific modules that address the particular safety issues faced by women journalists in physical and digital security. In addition, there will be specific modules on understanding, identifying and combating fake news. The training will be held over an intensive 5-day period and participants will be expected to produce quality feature stories with mentoring from the trainer and Internews staff.
Description: Internews will work with an international expert trainer to design an advanced, intensive five-day training program for senior women journalists and editors from print, radio and TV outlets from across the country. The training will be tailored to the needs of the participants and the exact curricula will be determined by a training needs assessment.
The participant should:
- Have Five years of work experience in the field of journalism
- Have published/broadcasted or disseminated stories/reports
- Be currently working in a media outlet as an editor or senior reporter
- Be committed to attend and contribute to a five days training and follow up activities
- Be committed to produce content after the training
Course Language: English with Dari and Pashto translation
Costs: Free of charge; the participants who are traveling from the provinces accommodation and transportation will be covered by the program.
