There are complaints that a number of media outlets deporting their employees without regard the rule of labor law and related regulation, after announcing the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan.
Organizations and institutions don’t have the right to fire compulsory their employees, Article 21 of the regulation of establishment and performance of private mass media clearly states.
Based on the received complaints, Nai Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan believes that such attitude is against the principles and rules of labor, and it indicates a clear contravention of labor law and the regulation of establishment and performance of private mass media.
Nai asks the ministry of information and culture and ministry of labor and social affairs as related institutions, to interfere in the field and implement the relevant provisions in order to ensure the right of media employees.
Nai also follows up on the complaint received from the journalists in a case by case basis and follow them, to ensure journalist’s rights are assured.
