Election as major and fundamental process in the direction of democracy, is illegible and acceptable if national laws accept it as a procedure for specific process in a country context.

On Saturday 4th August 2018, a number of journalists in Herat province selected three persons as their delegates to Joint Committee of Media and Government in the province.

Election certainly can achieve its acceptability and legitimacy in accordance to law not against it. In the regulation of Joint Committee of Media and Government, election isn’t indicated for selecting journalistic community delegates in this committee.

Abdul Mujeeb Khalvatgar, Managing Director of Nai Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan says: “meanwhile valuing this selection and its process which was processed in Herat province, the regulation of Joint Committees and what so ever that has been clarified about the members of the committee, as law all are baptized and executable.”

Furthermore journalistic community in Herat province calls the election as personalization process. One of officials of media entities in Herat said: “This election is done among employees of two local televisions and journalistic community of Herat even doesn’t have any information in this regard.”

Meantime Nai doesn’t have any comment or opinion on the rejection and confirmation of the above allegation, appeals all respected friends of media  in Herat province to act on the basis of regulation which itself is called as juridical documents of law and exhibit their law abiding as an important sector and certainly as the forth pillar of government.

Nai Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan as member of federation entity of journalists and media, is definitely awaiting the decision of this federation to resolve this problem.
