According to the Article 50 of Afghanistan’s constitution accessing information is the right of all Afghan citizens which the following right is guaranteed.
President and Chief Executive of the National Unity Government are responsible to trial those who are disrupting accessing information process legally.
One of the leaders of the National Unity Government clearly confessed that there are some individuals within the Government system dictating the spokespersons to avoid giving the exact number of the casualties to media, the following action and order is contrary to Afghanistan’s constitution, and some other existed laws and regulations in the country.
Director General of Nai Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan Abdul Mujeeb Khalvatgar in a statement said, “Since one of the leaders of the National Unity Government clearly confessed in public session that spokespersons are being given orders by individuals within the system that means there is a tragedy in circulation of information.”
