The Provincial directorate of Ministry of culture has asked all media channels, working in this province to avoid broadcasting songs played by women. This strict request is clearly in contrast with 34th article of national constitution and mass media regulation which says: “none of the governmental and none- governmental organizations are allowed to make interventions in the broadcasting policies of media. Any kind of limitations is illegal, but would be permissible only by law”.
So, the local customs which oppose with our law and constitution have no legal base to practice and impose on people.
“Nai” supporting open media in Afghanistan, hereby ask the Qandahar authorities to lift
these kinds of pressures on media and let them work independently .
