On Friday, 5th July 2019 a number of journalists, who went to cover police’s raid on Afghan-Turkish School, they were misbehaved and insulted by Kabul police.
Sami Jahish, Ariana News Journalist said to Nai Media Watch; security guards of deputy police chief of Kabul have violently behaved him and took his stuffs including his camera and cell phone.
Furthermore, TOLO News’s head has stated through his account on social media that TOLO News journalist and cameraperson have also been misbehaved by police when they wanted to cover police’s raid on Afghan- Turkish School.
Right after calls and contacts that Nai had in corporation with Interior Ministry, Kabul police had returned the stuffs including camera and cell phone to Ariana News journalist.
Nai Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan considers this aggressive behavior against law and asks the Interior Ministry to seriously follow up this issue. Abdul Mujeeb Khalvatgar, Nai Managing Director said; although Interior Ministry has reported on this issue but we actually want that police’s illegal behavior should seriously be followed up and its results be shared publicly.
On Friday, 5th July 2019, early in the morning a number of security forces had surrounded Afghan-Turkish School in Kabul. Therefore, a number of journalists went to cover the scene, hence police had aggressively behaved them.
